At Famous Software, the Accountant is an essential operating position. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accountant to join our dynamic organization providing software solutions to the Agriculture Industry for over five decades.
This position will be responsible for performing general bookkeeping, maintaining financial reports and statements, preparing and analyzing account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, meeting deadlines and more. This position will be a hands-on, self-starter role within the organization and will report directly to the Controller.
Role and Responsibilities
- Perform general office and accounting tasks, including billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Manage general accounting responsibilities and assigned monthly close tasks, such as preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and other financial analyses.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of 1099 forms.
- Provide financial support across all management levels and external customers.
- Maintain internal and external relationships by responding promptly to inquiries and requests.
- Support sales tax filing processes, ensuring timely reporting and payment remittance.
- Contribute to year-end audit processes and income tax workpaper preparation.
- Develop and maintain financial spreadsheets, leveraging accounting software for reporting and analysis.
- Organize and maintain historical records through electronic document filing.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and analysis, as well as other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with accounting software (experience with Famous Software a plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Background in agriculture and technology preferred.
Relocation and Telecommuting
At this time, Famous Software does not offer relocation packages. Additionally, telecommuting is not an option for this position.
